Camp Randall Rowing Club (CRRC) is an established rowing club located in Madison, Wisconsin, with excellent facilities on Lake Monona. We are a vibrant community of rowers and parents offering middle school, high school, and adult rowing programs.
The Assistant Coach works with the Head Coach to coach the men’s and women’s junior competitive program. We are seeking coaches for spring 2025, summer 2025 an beyond. This is a part-time position that includes responsibility for coaching middle school and high school youth rowers from Madison and the surrounding communities.
Responsibilities include:
Foster a culture of respect, safety, empowerment and sportsmanship.
Ensure compliance with USRowing SafeSport guidelines.
Work collaboratively with CRRC Head Coach and Coaching Staff to develop and implement a training plan that addresses the physical, mental, and technical development of rowers for the advancement of our athletes and the team, and that prepares the team to perform competitively at regattas locally, regionally, and nationally.
Supervise and coordinate junior team practices under the supervision of the CRRC Head Coach with an emphasis on safety.
Help maintain equipment, equipment inventories, and prioritize equipment needs.
Collaborate with coaching staff, specifically the lead novice coach, to recruit athletes from local schools to increase the size and competitiveness of the team.
Help facilitate the coordination and collaboration among all CRRC rowing programs. Communicate well with all stakeholders (staff, board members, athletes, parents, community members).
Attend regattas to supervise athletes and manage equipment.
Practice Schedule: Junior Team Assistant Coaches must be available 2-6 days per week for junior team practices. Juniors practices are Monday through Friday from 4:45-7pm and on Saturday from 7-9:30am. Middle school team practices take place 2-3 days per week at similar times.
