    Based on your schedule and availability, but ideally Monday through Friday, especially during the summer

    5 Hrs - Work as needed by Hoofer Sailing Club

  • Unit Hours

    Monday- Friday 9-5 Saturday and Sunday 10-5

Salary/Wage Range:

Hourly $15.50 to $15.50

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Maintenance and repair for all Hoofer Sailing Club fleets and facilities including but not limited to: 

  • Fiber glassing
  • Gel coating
  • Welding
  • Engine repair
  • Sail sewing
  • Hardware repair and replacement
  • General construction
  • Shop and lakefront cleanup.
  • Work occurs both indoors and outdoors

Qualifications:

  • Desire to work in a high-paced shop environment
  • Maintenance experience (or mechanically inclined) 
  • Capable of working independently and on teams with volunteer and paid staff members 
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds 
  • Technical skills including fiber glassing, engine repair, welding, metalworking, woodworking, electronics, sewing or sail repair skills are a plus
  • HOWEVER these skills are not expected for a new employee.

    Student Status

    To be eligible for the Wisconsin Union positions, you must be currently enrolled in a college, university, or highschool (at least 16). It is not permissible to hire a person as a student hourly employee if they are taking credits merely to be eligible for student hourly employment. Review UW Policy 5003- Student Hourly Employment for more information. If school is in break period (summer, spring, winter), applicants must intend to enroll in courses the following semester.
