Position Summary/Job Duties:

Help us maintain 100 acres of prairie and oak savanna by clearing out invasive plants. We've spent years successfully bringing back large areas of native grassland, but we need assistance pulling, spraying, and cutting various weeds and shrub species. This job is ideal for someone interested in prairie restoration who enjoys physical work in the great outdoors. It's sweaty yet rewarding work. Our farm is located one hour west of Madison in the beautiful rolling hills of the Driftless Area. Hourly rate includes paying for your driving time to and from our farm.

Experience and familiarity with maintaining prairie and oak savanna is a big plus. Applicant should be comfortable using a weedwhacker and doing sustained physical work. Additional experience using a brush mower and driving a small tractor (lawn tractor) is a plus but not essential.

Work involves pulling weeds by hand, cutting weeds and shrubs with a weedwhacker or clipper, and using a sprayer to poison weeds.
