  • Most Weekdays will need 7am - 9am; varied during the day; and few hours in evening.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

I’m a freshman at UW Madison living in a dorm and taking classes. I use a power wheelchair as I have quadriplegic cerebral palsy. I’m looking for 5 dependable personal care assistance that live near or on campus to support me during the week and weekends through the University calendar year.  The salary will be $23 an hour.  Hours are flexible.   I have some use of all limbs; decent use of my arms and hands and just mainly weight baring in my legs.  I am very active, and like to do many activities indoors and outdoors which may require support. A handicap van will be available for use when I can't use the bus.   

Some of the support that will be needed:

  • hygiene
  • toileting
  • bathing
  • transferring
  • dressing
  • cleaning/laundry
  • errands on weekends
  • possibly helps set up for class &/or meals

Qualifications:

  • Must be dependable and timely
  • Not required; ideally have interest or obtaining a degree in nursing, physical or occupational therapy.
  • Not required; good if have worked with persons with physical disabilities or as a caregiver.

Physical Demands

Strength to transfer, move and slight lifts 110Ibs.
