Department Overview:

We provide outdoor pediatric occupational therapy services for children with developmental challenges (primarily autism, ADHD, and mental health challenges). We support children's sensory-motor and social-emotional development through groups and individual OT services that are conducted in local nature settings, in close partnership with parents and caregviers.

Schedule:

We'd like to hire someone who could work the last week of summer camp August 4-8, 8:30-1:30pm each day at Token Creek on the east side.

The next week on August 11, the schedule would be about 4 hours per week: 3:45-5:15pm Wed and Thursday on the west side at Glen Oak Hills park.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Outdoor Kids OT is a nature-based (all outdoors) pediatric occupational therapy practice in Madison. We are currently hiring a group assistant to work closely with our occupational therapists to provide high-quality outdoor therapy group sessions for children ages 4-12. We typically work with children who have challenges in the areas of motor skills, social skills, mental health, or emotional regulation.

Group Assistant responsibilities include: greeting children and families, assisting the OT during group activities, managing supplies, taking photos and videos, and supporting individual children who need 1:1 support during group.

We are currently hiring for the following times:

August 4-8, 8:45am-1:15pm in Token Creek County Park (helping with last week of small-group summer camp)

Starting week of August 11: 

Wednesdays and/or Thursdays at Glen Oak Hills Park (west side) 3:45-5:15pm

We have all holidays off and a month-long break for holidays in Dec-Jan. 
Pay is $15-17/hour, depending on experience. Benefits for part-time hourly workers include: worker's comp insurance, social security and medicare taxes paid, and paid sick leave (1 hour earned per 30 hours worked).

Physical Demands

Must be able to walk up to 1-2 miles per session, carry a backpack or tote bag full of supplies, run to keep up with children who are active, keep attention to details in the midst of noise and loud children. :)
