Join us as a WARF Technology Transfer Intern!

Learn from a premier tech transfer organization by interning with WARF and you will: 

• Learn about patents, licensing and career opportunities within technology transfer
• Gain insights into the processes of one of the world’s leading technology transfer organizations
• Actively participate in the technology transfer process
• Build your network of technology transfer professionals and peers

Responsibilities

• Assist team with various licensing and IP related projects
• Participate in outreach activities on campus and with potential commercial partners
• Conduct market research and further analysis on selected patents or innovations 

Internship Details

We are seeking a student to start in September and continue through summer of 2026. The intern would be able to work up to 5-10 hours per week in the office, between Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. with hybrid location options possible. Our office is located at 614 Walnut Street, 13th floor along a bus route on the west side of UW-Madison campus.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Pursuing a graduate degree or postdoc within a scientific or technical discipline
• Ability to work under general direction and collaboratively with others
• Commitment to accuracy, detail management, and confidentiality
• Aptitude to handle multiple projects simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines
• Commitment to respect, empowerment and accountability as well as teamwork and partnership
