Department Overview:
Tallgrass Osteopathic Family Medicine is a Drect Primary Care Clinic. Dr. Angela Marchant provides care from womb to tomb through Direct Primary Care memberships. Patients gain access to a trusting relationship with their doctor, affordable and transparent costs, as well as better health outcomes. Dr. Angela also practices osteopathy, gentle bodywork similar to craniosacral and myofascial release, from the precision of a physician. In addition, Dr. Angela provides lactation support for all folks with an osteopathic whole person, whole family approach.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of the medical office and the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role involves direct patient interaction, assisting with medical procedures, and managing patient records.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients, verify patient information, and update medical records.
Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and assisting with medical examinations.
Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
Handle patient inquiries, provide information, and address concerns.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and safety standards.
Work Environment:
Medical office.
Interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
Specifications:
Flexible schedule, anticipate 10-15 hours per week with possibility to expand to 30 hours a week.
Prefer commitment of one year at minimum.
Pay $10-15/hour
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Pre-medical students preferred.
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices.
Interest in direct primary care, osteopathic medicine, integrative medicine and breastfeeding medicine necessary.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and move patients as necessary. Manual dexterity for handling medical instruments and equipment.
