Department Overview:

Cedar & Spice is a creative design and fabrication studio that transforms big ideas into unforgettable, Instagram-worthy brand activations across the Midwest. What started in a garage in 2018 has grown into a full workshop where a tight-knit team of designers, artists, and fabricators push each other to learn new skills, explore fresh concepts, and bring ambitious projects to life. We approach every build with creativity, craftsmanship, and problem-solving, and take pride in our ability to create something new using materials almost entirely harvested from previous projects.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Our Standby Squad is a flexible, on-call team of makers, builders, designers, and problem-solvers who support projects whenever extra hands or specialized skills are needed. You could be assisting with fabrication in the shop, helping assemble an event feature, programming LED lighting, or applying large-format graphics. It’s a role designed for variety—you bring your skills, and we’ll match you with the right projects.

Qualifications:

Skills in any of the following areas are welcome:

  • Fabrication (wood, metal, foam, plastics)
  • Welding, carpentry, CNC machining
  • Painting, finishing, scenic artistry
  • Graphic design, large-format printing, vinyl application
  • Electronics, lighting, AV setup
  • Engineering, prototyping, product design
