Department Overview:

This set up of student caregivers, learning and performing many RN level care tasks has been operating since 2012 as an unusual set up with supervision by the physician parents of the patient who were medical educators in their careers. Most students stay at least a year and a half and some much longer.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are looking to hire 3 part time caregivers to work a total of 12 hrs or more per week.  Pay is $17.85 per hr. . There is a requirement for some weekend work, typically 2 or 3 shifts/month. We would prefer candidates who are willing to make a 1 year minimum commitment but at least until early May 2026.  Twenty hours of training is provided. Candidates do not need to have any licensure or certificates. This job offers great direct patient care experience providing high level care often at the level of an RN such as starting and stopping IV fluids. This experience looks great on resumes and applications for health career pre-professionals. Care is for one patient in a comfortable home setting. Patient has complex medical and cognitive issues. Very supportive family. Join a group of 8 or 9 other students in this very team and educationally oriented position. Must not be smoker and be willing to wear N 95 mask. Must commit at least through early May 2026.
