Position Summary/Job Duties:

I am looking for someone to help with afternoon/evening bridge care and occasional babysitting for my sweet and funny 8-year-old daughter.

My immediate need (beginning September 9) is for someone to pick her up from after-school at Randall Elementary at 4:30pm on Tuesday afternoons, bring her to dance lessons 5-6pm, then bring her to our home back near Randall. I will be home to relieve the sitter at 6:30pm. This would require driving. I would also need shorter bridge care (not involving driving) 4:30-5:30 on certain Thursdays.

On top of the above "must-have" times, there may be other bridge care opportunities and occasional babysitting for evenings and school closure days, and potential dog walking opportunities in the afternoon, if the sitter happens to be available. Comfort with dogs is important either way - we have a sweet 4yo shepherd mix who is big but loves humans.

This could be a great fit for someone with flexible afternoons who lives or takes classes near Camp Randall. The compensation is $20/hr for shorter bridge care sessions and negotiable for longer babysitting sessions and dog walking.

Responsibilities may generally include:

  • Ensuring her safety during indoor and outdoor activities
  • Occasionally preparing/feeding her meals and snacks
  • Reading with her, supervising homework completion
  • Taking her to the playground and other prearranged activities
  • Occasional transport to and from other extracurricular activities
  • Helping her to tidy up play areas
  • (Occasionally) Walking the dog
  • (For evening babysitting) Putting her to bed

Qualifications:

    •    Previous experience as a Nanny or Babysitter, with reference
    •    Ability to come up with creative ideas to educate and engage children
    •    Multitasking skills
    •    A pleasant and patient personality
