Department Overview:

Safe Harbor reduces trauma and promotes healing for children and adults with intellectual disabilities who are victims of or witnesses to crime.  To accomplish our mission, Safe Harbor provides a trauma-informed, safe, child-friendly environment for best practice forensic interviews; immediate and ongoing advocacy for affected children and families; coordination and support of multi-disciplinary investigations and responses.

Days and hours are flexible with a consistent schedule being established at time of hire.  Part-time is available with opportunity for more hours up to 32 hours per week.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The LTE Part-time Childcare & Office Administrator plays a vital role in supporting children and families at the child advocacy center by ensuring a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment. This position prioritizes compassionate childcare during appointments—attending to children with sensitivity through play, activities, or supportive space—while also managing front desk reception, coordinating volunteers, and maintaining organized reception and childcare areas. In addition, the role supports smooth daily operations by handling office administration, donation processing, and general staff assistance to strengthen the overall mission of the center.

Days and hours are flexible with a consistent schedule being established at time of hire.

Position to begin November 10, 2025 and ends February 26, 2026.

Qualifications:

• Prior or current Safe Harbor volunteer experience preferred
• Educational background in child development preferred
• Self-sufficiency in taking initiative to complete expected job responsibilities
• Ability and willingness to work as part of a team and independently
• Ability to convey acceptance, sensitivity, and care to all
• Ability to interact with a variety of clients and families
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
• Excellent organizational skills
• Professional phone demeanor
