MSCR offers a wide variety of athletic, recreational, arts and enrichment activities and classes for all ages in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming instruction, MSCR on the Move, arts & enrichment classes, youth summer camps, sports camps & clinics, adult & 50+ fitness, adult sport leagues including pickleball, softball and tennis, and a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including paddling sports, pontoon trips, camping, orienteering and challenge courses.
As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), MSCR also provides afterschool enrichment activities, clubs and sports as well as summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools, Allied Learning Center and Meadowood Neighborhood Center. Afterschool clubs and sports include: arts & enrichment, homework/academic clubs, drama, dance, skiing, soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country and much more!

Program Description:
We are seeking an energetic and motivating Cardio Dance Fitness Instructor to lead classes designed specifically for adults ages 50+.
Goodman Rotary 50+ Fitness programs, with over 30 years of service, offers comprehensive programs designed to enhance the overall well-being of adults who are 50+ or better. Our programs focus on improving physical health through increased strength, flexibility, and balance, while also fostering social connections and reducing feelings of isolation.
Job Description & Duties:
The Cardio Dance Fitness Instructor will lead upbeat, music-driven group classes that blend dance, cardio, and fun movement. The ideal candidate is passionate about making fitness enjoyable and accessible, while encouraging participants of all abilities to stay active, build confidence, and have fun.
• Lead safe, engaging, and motivating cardio dance fitness classes for adults 50+
• Create inclusive choreography that supports a variety of fitness levels and abilities
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where participants feel successful
• Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled classes
• Ability to motivate and effectively communicate with class participants.
• Maintain safety standards and modify movements as needed
• Serve as a positive representative of MSCR and follow all policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook.
• Actively seek out and engage in continuing education/professional development opportunities, including additional relevant certifications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications:
• Previous experience teaching group fitness, dance, or older adult programs
• Ability to design safe, engaging, and easy-to-follow cardio dance routines for adults 50+
• CPR/AED Certification (or ability to obtain within 45 days)
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to adapt workouts for different fitness levels
• Passion for helping adults stay active, healthy, and connected
• Strong communication and motivational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience delivering group fitness programs to participants with diverse backgrounds and goals
• Current Group Fitness, Dance Fitness, Zumba®, AFAA, ACE, or similar certification
• Commitment to keeping certifications current and remaining in good standing with certifying organizations
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification
• Bilingual or ability to support a diverse community
