Department Overview:

Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is Madison’s public recreation provider. MSCR offers a wide variety of athletic, recreational, arts and enrichment activities and classes for all ages in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming instruction, MSCR on the Move, arts & enrichment classes, youth summer camps, sports camps & clinics, adult & 50+ fitness, adult sport leagues including pickleball, softball and tennis, and a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including paddling sports, pontoon trips, camping, orienteering and challenge courses. 

As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), MSCR also provides afterschool enrichment activities, clubs and sports as well as summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools, Allied Learning Center and Meadowood Neighborhood Center. Afterschool clubs and sports include: arts & enrichment, homework/academic clubs, drama, dance, skiing, soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country and much more!

Program Description: 

The MSCR Adult Basketball program is looking for Site Supervisors for all of its adult basketball games that are played at high schools throughout the city. Games are held Monday - Thursday during the evenings. There are three seasons of leagues that start in October and end in April.

Job Description & Duties: 

The Adult Basketball League Site Supervisor is responsible for the on-site management of all league activities, ensuring a safe, fair, and enjoyable experience for all participants. The Site Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for teams, referees, and league staff, handling all game-day operations, including scorekeeping, facility management, and conflict resolution. This is a part-time, seasonal position that requires weekend and/or evening availability.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: 
• Previous experience in sports management, recreation, or a related field is preferred.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Strong knowledge of basketball rules and game play

Preferred Qualifications: 
• Previous experience in sports management, recreation, or a related field is preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Reliable, punctual, and highly organized
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
