Position Summary/Job Duties:

Steve Brown Apartments is the creator and manager of Dorm@Lucky, a unique private dorm environment serving Madison, WI students. We have been operating and managing private first-year dorm housing for over 30 years.

Our company is local, smaller, more flexible, more personable, and offers choices that fit the family budget. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional one-on-one support to meet the needs of first-year students. The res-life staff develops a customized program for each new group of students and based on their interests and schedules.

What You'll Do All Day.

You'll plan and execute many events and meetings, including educational and social resident functions, personal development programs, and move-in orientation. You'll also be a support, checking in with your students and providing mentoring, support, and peer counseling.

In addition to focusing on our residents, you'll also be managing your own class load and student experience. We do require that you take 12 credits and limit other organized commitments to less than 20 hours a week. Theoretically, you will be there for your residents 24/7! 

What It Takes.

People who do best in this role are mature, caring, open to new experiences, willing to be challenged, have a deep capacity to deal with change, and ability to manage their emotions and deal with others' emotions, and be open to and sensitive with diverse lifestyles. A strong sense of humor, patience, great communication and time management skills are also key.

This position is a commitment in terms of your energy, time, talent, and ability to connect. You should have a good handle on balancing your personal academic and life responsibilities before committing to this role.

What You Get in Exchange.

You'll receive free housing at Madison's premiere student rental community, Lucky Apartments. You'll live on the same floor as your residents in a private room. A performance-based stiped will also be awarded at the end of the school year.
