Department Overview:
The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members and visitors through shared cultural, social and recreational events and experiences.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
This position will work to advance the processes of the Wisconsin Union Permanent Art Collection with a focus on accessibility. Under the supervision and guidance of the Art Collection Manager, this position will:
Document artworks in the Union Collection for digitization and archival purposes
Assist in the organization of the Wisconsin Union Art Collection and collection items
Assist with unpacking & organization of artwork, archive files, and other items
Assist with the installation of artworks as needed
Potential for research on an area of interest in archive holdings to craft a learning experience/program/tool from that body of research
Position Start/End Dates: position to run for the Fall of 2025 through Spring of 2026
Qualifications:
Preferred Majors: Art, Art Education, Photography
Ability to do detail-oriented work and handle materials with care. Can work respectfully as a part of a team to accomplish tasks.
Good decision making and communication skills.
Photography experience is preferred but not required.
Must be a current student in the School of Education to be eligible
