Position Summary/Job Duties:

MA’AM: Menopause and Midlife Clinic is a new women’s health practice based in Madison, WI. We provide modern, respectful, and empowering care for women in midlife and beyond — and we’re looking for a creative UW student to help share that mission through social media.

Position: Social Media Assistant

• Hours: ~5 hours per week

• Pay: $15/hour

• Duration: September 2025 – May 2026 (academic year)

• Meetings: 1-2x per week, 30 minutes each via Zoom (scheduled after 8pm)

Responsibilities

• Create original social media posts including graphics (on Canva or equivalent) and captions aligned with MA’AM’s established brand voice

• Schedule posts in advance on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest

• Research relevant Wisconsin topics and women’s health issues to suggest timely content ideas

• Collaborate during weekly Zoom planning and feedback meetings

• Help evolve the brand’s visual and written style over time

Qualifications

• Current UW student in Marketing, PR, Communications, Journalism, Design, or related field

• Strong skills in Canva and social media scheduling platforms (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Later, Hootsuite, etc.)

• Organized and able to plan content ahead of deadlines

• Extra credit: interest in women’s health, healthcare communications, or midlife/wellness content

• Must be able to generate original, human-created captions (AI may be used for brainstorming, but posted content must be student-created)

Why Join Us?

• Flexible, remote work — easy to fit around classes

• Real-world portfolio experience creating content for a growing healthcare brand

• Mentorship and feedback directly from the clinic’s founder

• Chance to contribute to a movement redefining how women experience midlife care

Qualifications:

Required

• Current UW–Madison undergraduate or graduate student in Marketing, PR, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related major

• Strong writing skills — able to write short, clear, engaging captions in a consistent brand voice

• Ability to plan and schedule content in advance and meet deadlines

• Reliable attendance at up to two weekly Zoom meetings (~ 8pm)

Preferred / Bonus Points

• Experience managing or contributing to a social media account (student orgs, internships, small business, personal project)

• Knowledge of social media engagement strategies (hashtags, polls, stories, reels, etc.)

• Awareness of local Madison/Wisconsin issues, culture, or events that could connect to clinic content

• Basic understanding of professional design elements (font pairings, color palettes, consistent layouts)
