Position Summary/Job Duties:

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1) Staff the Public Services desk and provide customer service. 2) Circulation duties such as checking out materials and issuing library cards. 3) Answer first-tier reference questions, directional questions, and instruct patrons on the use of library equipment (printers, copiers, scanners, etc.) 4) Use payment software and handle cash, credit cards, and checks. 5) File looseleaf services and update library materials. 6) Pull and re-shelve library materials. 7) Move and shift book collections.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: 1) Excellent customer service skills. 2) Excellent skill in working with computer and office technology such as databases and common office software, such as scanners, printers, and copiers. 3) Excellent ability to follow written and verbal directions with a high level of accuracy. 4) Excellent ability to work independently.

Preferred: 5) Library experience.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1) Employment will require a criminal background check. 2) The Wisconsin Court System does not sponsor work visas. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.

Physical Demands

This position requires a moderate amount of physical effort. Physical demands include frequently pushing carts weighing up to 250lbs, frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling, grasping, repetitive motions, and hand-eye-foot coordination.
