Position Summary/Job Duties: | Respite Provider
Location: Greater Dane County Area (Waunakee, Sun Prairie, Mazomanie, Deerfield, Madison, Cross Plains, Middleton, Marshall, McFarland, Stoughton)
Job Type: Part-Time
Pay Range: Base Rate $17, limited opportunities for higher rate
About the Role
We are seeking a caring, dependable Respite Provider to offer companionship and short-term relief for family caregivers. In this role, you’ll provide a safe, supportive environment for individuals who need supervision or companionship while their primary caregiver takes a much-needed break.
This is a non-medical position — no clinical care is required. Your focus will be on engaging clients in meaningful activities, ensuring their comfort, and promoting emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide supervision and companionship to individuals in their home or community setting
- Offer support with light daily activities such as meal prep, light housekeeping, or recreation
- Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, games, or light exercise as appropriate
- Ensure a safe and positive environment at all times
- Communicate with family caregivers or supervisors regarding any concerns or changes in routine
Qualifications
- Experience in caregiving, respite, or related human services field preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Must pass background and reference checks
