Since 1956 UCP has been a recognized and trusted organization offering valuable services for families, children and adults with varying disabilities and delays living throughout south central Wisconsin. (Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green Lake, Iowa, Jefferson, Juneau, Richland, Rock and Sauk Counties.) We support individuals with autism, epilepsy, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injury, delays in speech, mobility and development, etc.

Respite Provider
Location: Greater Dane County Area (Waunakee, Sun Prairie, Mazomanie, Deerfield, Madison, Cross Plains, Middleton, Marshall, McFarland, Stoughton)
Job Type: Part-Time
Pay Range: Base Rate $17, limited opportunities for higher rate
About the Role
We are seeking a caring, dependable Respite Provider to offer companionship and short-term relief for family caregivers. In this role, you’ll provide a safe, supportive environment for individuals who need supervision or companionship while their primary caregiver takes a much-needed break.
This is a non-medical position — no clinical care is required. Your focus will be on engaging clients in meaningful activities, ensuring their comfort, and promoting emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Provide supervision and companionship to individuals in their home or community setting
Offer support with light daily activities such as meal prep, light housekeeping, or recreation
Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, games, or light exercise as appropriate
Ensure a safe and positive environment at all times
Communicate with family caregivers or supervisors regarding any concerns or changes in routine

Qualifications:
Qualifications
Experience in caregiving, respite, or related human services field preferred
Compassionate, patient, and reliable personality
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Must pass background and reference checks
[Reliable Transportation Preferred]
