Position Summary/Job Duties:

Our 5-year-old daughter (Fancy Nancy vibes) and 3-year-old son (with the heart and lovability of Paddington) are looking for a warm, playful, dependable summer nanny to spend Tuesdays and Thursdays with them, in a neighborhood that still feels delightfully old-fashioned — think bike rides, neighbors who know your name, and magical summer days.

This is a part-time summer role for someone who genuinely enjoys young kids and doesn’t mind helping out around the house while the kids are off adventuring.

What Our Summer Days Look Like

  • Caring for our kids with patience, creativity, and a sense of fun (we're big fans of Dr. Becky)

  • Encouraging outdoor play, imagination, and joyful routines (e.g., low screen time)

  • Driving/biking with them to and from neighborhood summer camps and activities (1.5 mi away)

    • Tennis - 10:45-11:15

    • Water Ballet - 12:00 - 12:40

    • Day camp - 1-4

  • Prepare and clean up simple breakfast and lunch for the kids

  • Light household help while the kids are at day camp

    • Examples include laundry, meal prep, grocery shopping (based on your skills and interests)

We are 0.2 miles from a 28 bus route stop and 0.4 miles from a D bus route stop.

Qualifications:

  • We value clear communication, mutual respect, and making sure everyone feels supported.

  • Someone who loves early childhood energy, curiosity, and questions that begin with “why”

  • Experience with young children (formal or informal)

  • Calm, reliable, and able to roll with the delightful unpredictability of little kids

  • Comfortable driving children (valid driver’s license)

  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified)

Physical Demands

This role is active and hands-on, involving time on the floor, outdoor play, short walks or bike rides, and helping kids through their daily routines.

Application Instructions:

We aim to be flexible, communicative, and respectful of your time. If you’re someone who loves kids, appreciates a close-knit neighborhood vibe, and wants to be part of a sweet, memorable summer, we’d love to hear from you.
