Position Summary/Job Duties:
Mission Respite is hiring dependable, compassionate individuals looking to make a difference in the life of a child with special needs. As a Respite Companion, you will provide 1:1 support for a child in their home or out in the community. By providing non-medical respite care for a child with special needs, you will provide an opportunity for the parent/primary caregiver a break from the demanding role of caregiving. Plus you will provide companionship and have fun with an Incredible Kid!
Part-time, flexible scheduling with a minimum of 9 hours per week, up to 25 hours per week. $18-20 per hour plus weekly pay on Fridays.
Activities you could participate in include: being active outdoors, crafts, thrifing, baking, playing games, swimming, reading, teaching and building a rewarding relationship. We strive to match you with an Incredible Kid with similar interests and availability.
Respite Care is provided at the family's home or out in the community (zoo, parks, library, etc.) Reliable transportation is required. *Most families are NOT located on the busline.
