The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members and visitors through shared cultural, social and recreational events and experiences.

Mandatory availability to work evenings and weekends; most events take place outside standard office hours.

Office hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m, Monday - Friday.

Photoshoot hours vary and may range from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m, Monday - Sunday.

The Wisconsin Union seeks efficient, creative, flexible, and client-focused students with experience shooting professional-grade photography, managing deadlines, and editing and cataloging footage and images. You will:

• Capture high-quality photos at a wide array of events, activities, and programs developed by the Wisconsin Union and its partners
• Edit the photos with Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop
• Collaborate closely with the supervisor, event organizers, and marketing staff to deliver custom photography for marketing collateral and campaigns
• Properly organize, edit, tag, and catalog all photographic assets in accordance with established workflows

• Strong proficiency with mirrorless cameras and DSLRs
• Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge and Lightroom
• Experience with photography, including shooting, editing, and final output formatting
• High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and efficiency
• Professional interpersonal and communication skills with a strong client-service mindset
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team; reliability is essential
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must return a full set of high quality event photos within 72 hours of capture.
• Previous experience in photojournalism style photography and stage photographicshoots is a plus
• Experience with macOS is a plus
