Flexible Scheduling based on your academic availability and operational need
5 hours a week required, 10-15 hours per week preferred
Shifts are a minimum of 2 hours
Shifts available between 7:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday, some evening and weekend hours as operationally needed
Summer:
25-40 hours per week, positions based on availability & operational need, flexible scheduling options may be available, schedule will be set upon hire
Shifts available 7:30AM-4:30PM Monday-Friday, some overtime may be available on weekends
Seasonal :
This position is considered seasonal during the summer months and is exempt from the 89-day rule in regard to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Hours worked may exceed 30 hours/week during the summer months
Salary/Wage Range:
Hourly $15.75 to $15.75

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Student Move Crew Lead will be charged with leading the student move crew laborers in providing professional and timely move services for small projects within University Housing. They will also be responsible for maintaining the organization of various interior design storage areas. Working directly with the Interior Design Specialist this position will create schedules, task lists and follow up with customers as needed. Additional tasks may be required to support other functioning areas of University Housing Facilities dependent on operational need.
Assist in training student move crew staff.
Provide professional and supportive leadership to the team.
Lead in organizing workloads, communicating with supervisor on status of projects throughout the shift
Manage the process of scheduling move crew staff
Physically lifting, transporting and placing University Housing furniture items carefully from one location to another
Take apart furniture to facilitate movement and reassemble at new location.
Organize and inventory furniture surplus in designated storage areas
Assist with resident or staff room/office moves
Assist University Housing Facilities team with other projects as assigned.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of furniture (i.e. attach side rails).
Enter inventory information and photos into database
Install exterior sign frames as needed
Assist Building Services staff with time sensitive projects and tasks as needed
Be professional and helpful at all times, communicate clearly and accurately, report building maintenance issues, follow-up with customers as needed
Summer specific duties:
Oversee daily project tasks of the move crew; including working with contracted vendors for the delivery and installation of furniture related projects
Assist with setup of apartments, resident rooms, office spaces between occupancy during summer turnovers
Assist Upholstery Shop with the transportation of large furniture repairs (i.e. full building resident room chairs, dining booths) and complete small repair work
Conduct inventory assessment and repair log for resident room furniture during summer
Qualifications:
Must be able to regularly move objects weighing approximately 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform physical work for extended periods of time.
Familiarity with University Housing operation preferred.
A valid, unrestricted driver’s license which meets UW Risk Management standards is preferred.
Satisfactory results of a confidential criminal background check are required.
