Department Overview:
The Office for Student Organizations, Leadership & Involvement (SOLI) assists students in intentionally connecting with the far ranging opportunities that exist throughout campus, including student organizations. As an Office we offer leadership programming that supports students in making meaning of these experiences and in developing leadership capacity – the ability to affect positive change.

Schedule:
This position will be 4-8 hours a week during the academic year and summer; the exact hours are to be determined. This appointment is effective starting on April 30. Work study students are invited to apply.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Event Planning
Coordinate and execute the Fall & Spring Student Organization Fairs
Manage Wisconsin Involvement Network (WIN) databases for Student Organization Fair
Organize the participation of Student Organizations and Sponsors for the Student Organization Fairs
Facilitate the solicitation of participation and duties of volunteers for the Student Organization Fairs
Review feedback and implement initiatives to improve the event continuously
Administrative
Meet weekly with the Student Organization Specialist
Maintain the RSO Events email account
Maintain communication with student organizations, fair volunteers, and sponsors
Qualifications:
Must be enrolled as a UW-Madison student
Organized and responsible
Strong attention to detail
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Comprehensive oral and written skills
Ability to consistently meet deadlines and utilize time wisely
Experience planning large scale events desired
Commitment to providing friendly, responsive service to our customers and other office staff
A willingness to create an inclusive, welcoming and open working environment
Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 - Should GPA fall below 2.0, a meeting with the staff supervisor would be required.
