Department Overview:
The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members and visitors through shared cultural, social and recreational events and experiences.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Work directly with Marketing specialists, in coordination with the directors and managers of the Dining/Retail and Hospitability units of the Wisconsin Union, to execute and maintain marketing programs and materials for these units – includes Memorial Union and Union South restaurants, campus cafes and markets
Assist with the development and implementation of an academic year special events calendar and social media promotions.
Work with the graphics and production team to develop and complete unit menus/signage and promotional materials including lamination, trimming and delivering materials
Meet with unit managers to provide signage and marketing support
Update website content, including unit hours. May include training for other students
Track in-house marketing campaigns
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Majoring in journalism, communication arts, business, marketing or related field.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to set and meet deadlines
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, but not required.
Interest in gaining experience in an in-house marketing department and working with internal clients
Prior retail or hospitality experience preferred
Student Status
To be eligible for Wisconsin Union positions, you must be currently enrolled in a college, university, or highschool (at least 16).
