Position Summary/Job Duties:

This is primarily a home-help role. Most of your time will go to keeping the house tidy, organized, and running:

  • Light cleaning and tidying: countertops, floors (vacuum/mop), loading and unloading the dishwasher, resetting shared spaces

  • Laundry: washing, drying, folding, and putting away

  • Organizing and decluttering living areas, cabinets, closets, and storage

  • General household upkeep: opening and breaking down delivery boxes, recycling, keeping things in order

You would also help with our kids as part of the afternoon routine:

  • Picking the kids up from school and driving them home

  • Light after-school oversight (snack, homework, play) until a parent is home, alongside the household tasks

Qualifications:

  • Current UW–Madison student (part- or full-time)

  • Reliable, responsible, proactive, and organized — someone who notices what needs doing

  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record (required)

  • Access to your own reliable car for school pickups (required)

  • Comfortable being around and helping with children

  • Prior experience with household help, organizing, or cleaning is a plus but not required

Physical Demands

Light physical activity typical of household help: standing, walking, bending, light lifting (laundry, delivery boxes), vacuuming and mopping. Must be able to drive for school pickups.

Application Instructions:

Please email bmutlu@wisc.edu a short note that includes:

  • A brief description of your relevant experience (household help and/or working with kids)

  • Your weekly availability, and whether you can commit through the school year

  • Confirmation that you have your own car and a good driving record

  • Two references we may contact

Compensation: $24–$27/hour depending on experience, paid biweekly and electronically; bonuses at the end of each semester and the summer; mileage reimbursement for driving the kids. Your scheduled hours are guaranteed — if we ever need to cancel, you are still paid for that time. Happy to provide a reference or recommendation letter after a good stretch of work.
