About Caed Confections

Caed Confections is a small, growing chocolate company specializing in handcrafted bonbons, chocolate bars, and other confections made right here in Wisconsin.

We're opening our Madison location inside the Madison Public Market, surrounded by local businesses, food vendors, community events, and plenty of people looking for something delicious.

We're looking for a friendly, dependable person to join our team and help make our shop a place customers enjoy visiting.

If you love chocolate, enjoy talking with people, and would rather work somewhere that feels personal and local than a big-box retail environment, we'd love to hear from you!

About the Job

As a Chocolate Shop Associate, you'll be one of the faces of Caed Confections in Madison. You'll help customers choose chocolates, answer questions, package purchases, keep the display stocked and beautiful, and make sure the shop feels welcoming throughout the day.

Some days may be relaxed and conversational, while others may be busy and fast-paced — especially during weekends, holidays, and special events. We're looking for someone who can roll with both.

You'll also have opportunities to learn about our chocolates and confections, our products, and what goes into creating a great customer experience.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome customers and create a friendly, welcoming shopping experience

  • Help customers choose chocolates and make recommendations

  • Learn about our products and answer customer questions

  • Ring up purchases accurately using our POS system

  • Package chocolates carefully and professionally

  • Restock products and keep displays looking beautiful

  • Keep the shop clean, organized, and inviting

  • Receive and organize product deliveries

  • Monitor inventory and let management know when items need to be restocked

  • Follow food safety and product-handling procedures

  • Help with opening and closing the shop

  • Assist with seasonal promotions, special events, and busy holiday periods

  • Stay productive and organized during slower periods

What We're Looking For

You don't need to be a chocolate expert or have years of retail experience. We'll teach you about our products and how we do things.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly and comfortable talking with customers

  • Dependable and punctual

  • Positive and professional

  • Comfortable working independently

  • Organized and able to stay productive throughout a shift

  • Comfortable in both slower and busier environments

  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs

  • Able to reliably get to the Madison Public Market

Retail, food service, or customer service experience is helpful, but we're happy to train the right person.

Why Work With Us?

Caed Confections is a small, growing business, so you'll have the opportunity to be part of something that's still being built.

You'll work directly with our team, learn about handcrafted chocolate, meet customers from all over Madison, and be part of the energy of a brand-new public market.

And, yes — there will be chocolate around.

Start Date

Our anticipated opening date is mid-September. Exact start dates and training schedules will be communicated as we get closer to opening.
