Position Summary/Job Duties:

Madison Saunas is looking for friendly, dependable, and energetic Sauna Attendants to help create a welcoming lakeside sauna experience at Wingra Park.

Sauna Attendants are at the heart of the guest experience—welcoming guests, tending our wood-fired saunas, maintaining the lake plunge area, keeping spaces clean and inviting, and helping each session run safely and smoothly. This is an active, hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in creating a great experience, and is comfortable working outdoors during Wisconsin’s fall and winter. Staff have access to a heated staff room throughout their shift to warm up, take breaks, and get out of the elements.

Responsibilities

Sauna Attendants work as a team, with at least two staff members scheduled at a time. We love people with sauna experience, but you don’t need to be an expert—we can teach you. Your primary responsibilities are to reduce risk and create a warm, welcoming sauna experience for every guest.

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcome and check in guests
  • Explain the sauna experience, facilities, and expectations
  • Monitor guest safety and communicate concerns
  • Start, tend, and monitor wood-fired sauna stoves
  • Carry and stock firewood
  • Monitor and maintain the lake plunge area
  • Clean saunas, changing areas, and guest spaces
  • Shovel snow and maintain safe walkways
  • Answer questions and help resolve guest issues

We’re Looking for People Who Are

  • Warm, friendly, and welcoming
  • Comfortable talking with new people
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Positive and energetic
  • Comfortable working as part of a small team
  • Able to work independently
  • Attentive to cleanliness and details
  • Willing to jump in wherever needed
  • Comfortable with physical, hands-on work
  • Interested in sauna, wellness, outdoor recreation, hospitality, or community

Qualifications:

No previous experience is required, though winter seasonal work experience, hospitality experience, and/or saunca experience is beneficial.

Physical Demands

Working outdoors in the winter, standing for extended periods of time, lifting 40-50 lbs, tending to sauna stoves, shoveling snow and maintaining lake plunge area
