Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are building a small rotation of trusted babysitters to call on for evenings, weekends, the occasional day here and there, ~monthly date nights, etc. Some nights you'll have all four kids, other nights just one or two, since our older two are often off at practice or a friend's house. Duties include the usual: snacks/meals, activities, possibly short dog walks, bedtime (7:30 for the littles, 8:30-9 for the bigs), and general tidying up before you head out: dishes in the dishwasher, toys put away, kitchen reset. You'll be paid in cash, check, or Venmo at the end of each night, whatever's easiest for you.

Qualifications:

  • Prior babysitting/childcare experience, ideally with school-age kids and tweens, and comfortable independently caring for anywhere from one to four kids depending on the day
  • Reliable, punctual, communicative, and takes initiative, noticing what needs doing around the house without being asked
  • Comfortable with occasional short-notice asks and with dogs
  • Bonus: willing to occasionally run an errand (like a ride to a friend's or practice), using your own car or possibly ours, happy to talk through what works best

Application Instructions:

Please email mkwasny@gmail.com with the subject line "Babysitter Application" and include:

  • your general weekly availability (and whether you have a car)
  • how much notice you typically need for a sitting request
  • your experience with multiple/school-age kids

We're hoping to build a small go-to list rather than fill one slot, so it may take a little while to sort through responses and reach out. Thanks for your patience!

If it seems like a good fit, next steps will likely be a quick call, then a short first babysitting time while I'm home (possibly), before we set up regular hours. And if things go well, I'm always glad to write a reference or recommendation letter down the line.
