Position Summary/Job Duties:
We are delighted to share the opportunity to work with Matt, a 40-year-old Madison resident with Down Syndrome. We are seeking an individual excited about working with diverse populations. Matt is a very independent individual but would rely on your support to be present and coach him with various activities, including but not limited to the following:
Walking through the neighborhood
Playing board or card games
Volunteering at local food pantries
Pulling and processing library books
Assisting at area grade schools
All activities will be arranged by Matt's mother, Nancy, with whom Matt lives.
Matt lives just west of the UW-Madison campus next to Wingra School (just off of Monroe Street). His residence is very accessible via multiple bus routes along Monroe St. The D route, specifically, stops just down the hill.
Expected hourly rate of $17/hour.
Qualifications:
Required:
Transportation to and from arranged activities (all will be accessible via public transportation )
Preferred:
Experience in caregiver settings
Experience with diverse populations
Interest in working with special needs population
