Position Summary/Job Duties:

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader/Sales Associate to join our State street retail team. This role combines leadership responsibilities with direct sales activities, ensuring smooth store operations, exceptional customer service, and effective team management. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, sales expertise, and managerial experience to foster a positive shopping environment and drive store success.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise daily store operations, including shift management and staff coordination
  • Assist customers with product inquiries, demonstrate excellent customer service, and resolve issues promptly
  • Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product presentation
  • Oversee POS transactions, cash handling, and cashiering duties with accuracy
  • Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions, and participate in interviewing potential team members
  • Store merchandising to maximize sales opportunities
  • Maintain organized records of store inventory/supplies
  • Implement marketing initiatives to promote store products and increase customer engagement
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards while fostering a positive work environment
  • Help with online orders ensring they get picked from sales floor/inventory, shipped on time
  • Help with online duties such as website product updatews, and social media posts/updates

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience in retail or resturant settings with supervisory responsibilities prefered
  • Able to guide staff members to understand how to do store tasks, and ensure they're prioritizing correctly, deligating those priories during your shifts.
  • Strong sales management skills including negotiation, retail math, and pricing strategies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping tools
  • Experience in merchandising, stocking, marketing, and retail operations including shift management
  • Ability to handle cash handling accurately and perform retail math calculations effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • High level of professionalism with phone/website/email etiquette and customer service excellence
  • Organizational skills complemented by time management expertise and attention to detail

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand for up to an 8 hour shift. May have to lift up to 50lbs when new inventory comes in. We have stairs to the bathroom in the shop with no elevator, so you would have to be able to walk down about 10 stairs to get to the rest room.
