Schedule:

A variety of shifts are available weekdays between 7:45 am and 5:00 pm. Applicants must be able to work at least 10 hours per week between Monday-Friday.

Qualifications:

Required:
- Enrollment in classes at UW-Madison

Preferred:
- Curiosity and interest in learning about using and supporting IT equipment such as laptops (macOS and Windows), projectors, audio/video recording devices, printers and scanners.
- Training and experience in providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work for more than one semester.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Desire to provide excellent customer service, and especially being friendly and helpful.
Desire to develop technical and troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage details and multi-tasking.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the faculty, staff, and students who use our facilities and services.
Interest in foreign languages and cultures.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are located on the second and fourth floors of Van Hise Hall. As a Service Desk Attendant you will be:
- Assisting faculty and staff with instructional equipment circulation, training, and support.
- Opening and closing the InfoLab, restocking paper in printers, and additional miscellaneous duties as needed.
- Troubleshooting computer, printer, and network connectivity issues
- Preparing classrooms for instructors

We will provide all necessary training through in-person and online training modules. This position is 100% in-person.

Duties may include:
- Customer service and patron assistance
- Equipment and materials check-in/out
- Fielding inquiries from patrons in-person, via telephone, email, and chat
- Classroom technical assistance
- Computer tech support
- InfoLab printer support
- Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift 10-20 lbs, occasionally to move computers, monitors and other IT equipment.
