Department Overview:
The People’s Farm for Sustainable Agriculture strives to educate the UW community about the relationship between people, land, and food. Through our garden workshops, educational events, and outreach programming, we aim to bring critical awareness about food systems, land use, and sustainability issues at UW.

Must be enrolled as a student at UW-Madison.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Discuss with outgoing board member(s). Try to be as accessible as possible. No prior experience is necessary.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Summer Garden Internship Program (Summer) Manage internship application process and ensure that the garden has the volunteer labor required to run in the summer Develop syllabus and curriculum, including weekly workshops, field trips, guest speakers; communicate with Farm Directors Manage logistics for field trips and coordinate with guest speakers Conduct weekly workshops on topics relevant to our mission Communications with Summer Garden interns frequently, keeping them up to date with logistics and upcoming events Be present at the Eagle Heights Garden throughout the growing season Act as a support for Garden Team and intermediary between interns and directors Develop a relationship with interns Engage interns after internship is finished Maintaining membership and volunteer opportunities Design and implement programming in partnership with Programming Director Plan and lead various workshops and collaborations with other departments or student organizations Ensuring that The People’s Farm programming led by Program Director beyond Education Director responsibilities go smoothly and have logistics accounted for.
