Department Overview:
The Programs Operation Intern plays a key role in supporting Maydm’s mission of providing girls and youth of color in grades 6-12 with skills, experiences, and connections to pursue careers in and change the face of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). The Programs Operations Intern will provide support for the Educational and Internship programs, and delivery of Maydm educational programs.. This is an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing business, entrepreneurship, and/or nonprofit management to work with a small, fast-paced team and gain hands-on experience with nonprofit operations. We are also especially seeking people of color, and bilingual (i.e. English/Spanish, English/Hmong) candidates for this position. Schedule:
Hours can be scheduled Monday through Friday (some weekend hours available) between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. One of the in-office days must be Tuesday.

Qualifications:
Work Study Required Willing to work in a small, fast-paced nonprofit environment Available to work in-office between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, option to support some early evening hours Must have a personal vehicle to get to multiple locations on a given day Studying business, nonprofit management, entrepreneurship, information technology management, business information systems, marketing, or similar fields is preferred Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities when given a new assignment Takes initiative to research and learn new skills and problem-solve as issues are identified Comfortable working independently and with a small team Able to identify and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion Experience or interest in storytelling and marketing through digital platforms Ability to create engaging posts for social media platforms Ability to assist with event photography/videography at Maydm programs and events Strong professional writing and editing skills Basic data systems knowledge for marketing and tracking engagement Ability to research and test software, tools, and best practices for program operations Experience with Google Suite
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Assist with program operations, specifically event planning, promotion, set-up and clean-up, and other logistics Manage and track program registration and relevant data with Programs Manager Support education and internship program communications, including drafting emails, creating reports, and stakeholder updates Create social media content to promote Maydm’s education and internship programs Capture and edit photos/videos for program documentation and marketing Research and test new tools, software, and best practices for marketing and data efforts Support marketing and outreach tasks using Mailchimp, Canva, and other common social media platforms Possibility of supporting the STEM programs as an assistant instructor Schedule may be adapted over time based fluctuating program hours, needs, and location Perform other program-related tasks as assigned
