Schedule:

Your schedule is flexible and is created in partnership with the Digital Analytics Team Lead. When creating your schedule, we require a minimum shift length of two hours, that work is done primarily during regular business hours, and we prefer that you overlap with at least one other student team member.

Minimum: $12.00 Maximum: $17.00

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have the following skills and experience:
* An interest in pursuing a career in digital analytics, data science, data engineering, and/or AI
Intermediate knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#
* A high level of data literacy
* A passion for understanding what the data says, as well as what it doesn't say
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Ability to work with minimal supervision

Well-qualified candidates will also have some of the following skills and experience:
* Knowledge of data reporting and analysis using Microsoft Excel, SQL, R, Python, or other tools
* Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Google Looker Studio, or visualization packages in R and Python
* An understanding of modern APIs that implement RESTful or GraphQL standards
* Currently enrolled in or have completed relevant UW-Madison coursework such as:
* Stat 333 - Applied Regression Analysis
* CS 300 - Programming II
* Stat 340 - Introduction to Data Modeling II
* Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
* Proven aptitude through coursework or outside projects

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Digital Analytics team within the Teaching, Learning & Assessment group at the Wisconsin School of Business is seeking a student developer with a focus on the intersection of data engineering and data analysis, who is passionate about data and its application in helping others.

To support and improve the school’s decision-making process, this student will work with various data sources, including Microsoft SQL Server, Google Analytics, Google BigQuery, and institutional data. Tasks include creating ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes, compiling metrics and insights for monthly and ad-hoc reports, testing and validating new strategies, creating and maintaining custom dashboards, creating and validating predictive models, and other similar activities.

Ongoing projects include utilizing AI for operational purposes, completing the transition from on-premises to the Google Cloud Platform, and developing Google Looker Studio dashboards and reports to support informed decision-making.

Physical Demands:

Utilizing a mouse and keyboard to produce and edit documentation, code, and reports/dashboards.
