Department Overview:
The La Follette School of Public Affairs is highly ranked among public policy graduate degree programs and enjoys a worldwide reputation for research and teaching. Our mission is to train leaders and conduct research to inspire evidence-based policymaking to advance the public good. Our department’s academic programs include options for pursuing a master’s degree through the 2-year program, accelerated program, combined degree, double degree, or dual degree. Schedule:
Hours must be consistent each week, but the student in this position will largely create their schedule. Work can be completed in-person, remotely, or a combination. There are a few evening events where we will need help staffing. This position has the opportunity to be extended.

Qualifications:
Strong writing and communication skills and a working knowledge of social media are required for the position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
These skills are not required for the position; however, we encourage applicants to highlight any relevant experience in their application. • Experience assisting with or managing institutional or business social media accounts. • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, photo/video editing software, and/or email marketing software. • Experience updating or managing website content. • Photography, videography, or graphic design experience.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The student in this position will primarily assist the La Follette School’s Communication Specialist to draft and schedule regular posts on the school’s Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook accounts. They will create concise, engaging posts about upcoming events, the student experience, policy research, and more. The student will also assist with updates to the school’s WordPress website content, including revising text using plain language and layout improvements.
Physical Demands:
The person in this position will be asked to help photograph several events on campus.
