Come join our team in the Office of Admissions and Recruitment within the Division of Enrollment Management at UW-Madison. We are admissions professionals dedicated to recruiting, admitting and enrolling the next generation of UW-Madison undergraduates.

Schedule:
The Student Director will have a set number of in-office hours each week, usually 6-8 hrs per week during business hours, with flexibility around class schedules. In addition to this, the Student Director will be expected to participate in event preparation, logistics, and execution, totaling an additional 2-4 hours during event weeks. Events frequently occur on Fridays, especially during the Spring semester, so Friday daytime availability is very important.

-Required: UW-Madison undergraduate student in good academic standing -Required: Demonstrated campus involvement in student clubs/orgs, volunteering, or other campus jobs - Previous experience with public speaking preferred - Previous leadership experience preferred - Ability to meet schedule expectations as outlined above
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Coordination of the Wisconsin Admissions Volunteers (WAV) Program: -Organize WAV meetings, including developing content, producing PowerPoint presentations, and running each meeting -Ongoing management of student volunteer database -Create training materials and facilitate training sessions for student volunteers -Collaborate with Social Media Coordinator on all WAV social media engagement, including brainstorming, scheduling, coordination of volunteers, and supervision of social media fulfillment -Implement campus-wide marketing strategies to promote the WAV program -Attend campus resource fairs and student organization meetings to promote WAV -Brainstorm and generate new ways to expand and improve the WAV program -Assist with copying, mailings, and research projects Recruitment Event Duties: -Recruit and coordinate volunteers for various OAR recruitment events -Staff recruitment events -Moderate student panels (virtual-only) -Manage WAV volunteers at recruitment events -Assist with event preparation and staffing -Other Duties as Assigned
Position Summary/Job Duties:
UW–Madison’s Office of Admissions and Recruitment is seeking a student to fill the role of Student Director of the Wisconsin Admissions Volunteers (WAV) program. This candidate will work alongside of and be mentored by a permanent UW-Madison staff member while developing hands-on volunteer management skills, taking on peer leadership opportunities, and gaining a deeper understanding of the college admissions process. The WAV program is a group of volunteer undergraduate students who play a vital role in extending the reach of the Office of Admissions and Recruitment as we work to contact, connect with, and enroll top-quality students from across the country. The Student Director of WAV coordinates all aspects of the volunteer program including advertising the volunteer opportunities, recruiting and training qualified students, managing ongoing communication with volunteers, and coordinating volunteers for all recruitment events. **REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS: -Resume -Cover letter: In one page maximum, tell us about yourself, your involvement as a Badger, and how you can share that experience with future badgers and their families
