Department Overview:
The Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) is a U.S. Department of Energy-funded Bioenergy Research Center led by the University of Wisconsin-Madison. With Michigan State University and other partners, we are developing approaches to generate advanced biofuels and bioproducts through economically viable and environmentally sustainable technologies.

Schedule:
Flexibility to work around class schedule but prefer availability during daytime business hours, between 9 AM and 5 PM.

Qualifications:
Lab experience particularly experience with liquid handling (pipettes and volumetric glassware) and solution making preferred. Introduction to chemistry/analytical chemistry preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
The metabolomics lab is responsible for accurate labeling and processing of samples, so attention to detail and precision with repetitive tasks is required. Understanding of general lab practices preferred.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
This position is responsible for prepping solutions, performing sample preparation, performing analysis using HPLC and GC/MS analytical chemistry methodology, and reporting data into a laboratory information management system.
Physical Demands:
repeatedly pipette solutions using electronic pipettes and manual micropipettes. Occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds.
