Department Overview:
University Health Services is the UW-Madison student health center, with a mission to enhance learning and student success by promoting, protecting, and improving health and well-being. Our medical service includes a primary care clinic and specialty clinics for immunizations, gynecology, travel, and sexual health.

Schedule:
September: 8 hours of orientation to the role October through December: Schedule will vary and will coordinate with fall flu clinic schedule. Anticipate approximately 5 hours every other week through the fall semester.

Qualifications:
Required - able to work independently and part of a team - able to follow verbal and written instructions - excellent verbal and written communication skills - professionalism and accountability Preferred -customer service experience - experience in a health care setting - medical terminology - understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Customer service skills in-person and over the phone Able to communicate effectively with all team members and with other students Knowledge of problem-solving techniques Demonstrates an ability to work independently, with co-workers, and on a team Excellent time management and organization skills
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Under direction and supervision of medical personnel, the students will work as peer educators during the on campus flu clinics to educate students of the need to upload their immunization records to the student health portal and the process of doing so. In addition, they will provide information about the importance of vaccination against measles for all students and meningitis B when living in communal settings. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

May be required to lift between 10-25 pounds
