Department Overview:
University Health Services is the UW-Madison student health center, with a mission to enhance learning and student success by promoting, protecting, and improving health and well-being. Our medical service includes a primary care clinic and specialty clinics for immunizations, gynecology, travel, and sexual health.

Anticipated Hours Per Week:
Minimum: 6 Maximum: total of 100 hours over semester
Schedule:
September: 8 hours of orientation to role October through December: Schedule will vary and will coordinate with fall flu clinic schedule. Anticipate approximately 5 hours every other week through the fall semester for outreach. In addition, a part of this role will be verifying immunization records and entering immunizations into our EMR system. This work can be done remotely, on an independent work schedule.

Qualifications:
Required - licensure as an RN or a Pharmacist in state of Wisconsin - familiarity with EMR systems - able to work independently and as part of a team - able to follow verbal and written instructions - excellent verbal and written communication skills - customer service experience - professionalism and accountability Preferred - experience in a health care setting - experience with immunization recommendations - understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA

Customer service skills Able to communicate effectively with all team members Knowledge of problem-solving techniques An ability to work independently, with co-workers, and on a team Excellent time management and organization skills Computer skills and EMR experience Preferred: Knowledge of immunization recommendations for young adult
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Position Summary/Job Duties: Under supervision of the project managers, the graduate professional student will work supporting two peer educators at the fall on campus flu clinics to educate students about the need to upload their immunization records to the student health portal and the knowledge of how to do so. In addition, they will support the peer health educators in providing knowledge about the importance of vaccination against Measles for all students and Meningitis B when living in a communal setting. They will also work independently to enter and verify immunizations in the EMR system.
Physical Demands:
May be required to lift between 10 - 25 lbs.
