Department Overview:
This student job supports the School of Medicine and Public Health Department of Psychiatry, located on Research Park Blvd, and known as the Wisconsin Psychiatric Institutes and Clinics (WisPIC). We help close to 300 individuals and support over 500 devices.

Schedule:
Scheduling is primarily determined by your class schedule. You will be asked to maintain a consistent work schedule. Availability must be during standard business hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) Monday through Friday. We are looking for individuals to work between 8 and 25 hours a week, depending on your schedule. No weekend or after hours work.

Qualifications:
Green flags: willingness and ambition to learn new work processes, such as checklists, and to take the initiative to finish work. A great sense of organization, both digitally and on your desk. We work together to keep our spaces neat, clean, and tidy! We are also looking for individuals who can work both independently and collaboratively, and who can communicate well in-person and in writing. You should also be able to demonstrate consistency (showing up on time, responding to customers, etc.), thoroughness in your work, and a desire to explain basic computer concepts to non-technical people.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
No programming skills needed. Basic understanding of troubleshooting. Basic familiarity with either Mac or Windows devices. You'll be a great candidate if you typically find yourself solving technical problems for friends or family or have a great eye for detail! Having worked retail is also a great plus!
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Major responsibilities may include: -Checking ticketing systems and gathering information -Answering the phone -Help customers who walk in who need more immediate help -Carefully track progress of computer preparation and disposing (in writing) -Document troubleshooting steps and escalate where necessary -Troubleshooting AV equipment in conference rooms (checking connections, restarting computers, etc.) -Computer equipment placement and retrieval -Inventorying and organizing equipment Other responsibilities may include: -Complete other long-term projects as assigned -Training on WordPress to maintain websites -Other duties as assigned
