Department Overview:

UW-Madison Division of Extension Institute of Positive Youth Development builds community environments where Wisconsin youth grow into the effective, empathetic adults of tomorrow. We offer research-based local, state, and national 4-H experiences to more than 30,000 Wisconsin young people, age 5-19, where they practice the life and leadership skills that prepare them to thrive as adults.

Qualifications:

Strong organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
Fluent in English & Spanish
Employment will require a criminal background check
Student must be enrolled for credit at an educational institution. Student will need to show proof of enrollment before starting.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Bilingual Positive Youth Development (PYD) Office Program Assistant will work with the Institute Administrative team to support PYD and Wisconsin 4-H state and national educational programs.
-Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
-Provides general office and administrative support
-Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures
-Tracks, stocks, orders, and inventories office and programming supplies to ensure adequate materials are available for workplace operation
-Serves as first point of contact for individuals and groups providing basic organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums, routing more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
-Supporting youth educational programs
-Creating binders, folder and other educational materials
-Data entry/evaluations
-Nametags
-Updating flyers, brochures and other materials
-Designing and developing new program materials
