Qualifications:
Enrolled at University of Wisconsin-Madison Must be awarded Work Study through Financial Aid Interested in legal studies, specifically criminal defense
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Ability to communicate with people from different backgrounds than your own Ability to accurately communicate with individuals in person and over the phone in English Proficiency with basic computer applications, such as Google Docs or Microsoft Word Good organizational skills Ability to handle multiple activities and projects, and work under pressure Willingness to learn quickly
Position Summary/Job Duties:
We are looking for a student interested in learning about the field of private legal investigation through a criminal defense lens. You will work under the direct supervision of attorneys and legal investigators, and conduct investigations to provide information that aids in the formation of a legal defense. You must be willing to communicate with individuals from different backgrounds, write reports about your encounters, and work with others to get the best result for our clients.
Physical Demands:
Some work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to remain in a stationary position at a desk, move around the office, and operate standard office equipment including computers. Some work is performed outside the office, which requires the ability to move about public meeting spaces.
