Department Overview:

Student Recruiters help execute the School of Education’s recruitment strategy. This role will help you develop better public speaking and leadership skills. You’ll also gain experience building marketing strategies that advance the School of Education’s enrollment goals.

Student Recruiters play a key role in facilitating outreach and recruitment initiatives, welcoming prospective students and guests, and generating excitement and understanding about School of Education offerings. The role requires professionalism and comfort speaking with a variety of audiences about your School of Education knowledge and experiences.

We’ll provide training that will set you up for success and help you develop skills in marketing, influencing, public speaking, event coordination, and enrollment strategy.

Schedule:

Build valuable experience without a huge time commitment. This may work well for students with a busy course load, a second job, or a preference for a lighter work schedule without compromising professional skill-building.

Weekly shifts are Wednesdays from 3-5 PM.

Special events take place on select Wednesdays from 5-6 pm and select Fridays from 3-5pm. Special events are not weekly, but availability during these times is REQUIRED.

Fall 2025 Special Events
Wednesdays: 10/29, 11/12 (5-6 pm)
Fridays: 10/24, 11/07, 11/21, 12/05 (3-5 pm)

Ability to continue in Spring semester.

Qualifications:

-A School of Education undergraduate student in good academic standing
-Preference for students in education or health majors in the School of Education
-Preference for students willing to work the Spring semester in addition to the Fall
-Preference for second-year students and beyond

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-Excellent verbal communication
-Enthusiasm for the School of Education and your academic program
-Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
-Comfortable using basic administrative tools such as Google Sheets
-Willing to support event logistics and contribute to a welcoming guest experience
-Able to take initiative and work independently or collaboratively
-Open to feedback and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment
-Maintain professionalism

Position Summary/Job Duties:

-Represent the School of Education at information sessions and events
-Complete administrative tasks that support successful recruitment initiatives
-Assist with logistics, event coordination, hosting visitors, and event setup/breakdown
-Share your personal experience and provide thoughtful advice to prospective students
-Attend all scheduled sessions

Physical Demands:

-Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
-Ability to help set up events (lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects up to 10lbs)
-Sitting for up to 3 hours
