Department Overview:

The Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the lifespan. One of 15 centers of its kind in the United States, the Waisman Center encompasses laboratories for biomedical and behavioral research, several scientific research cores, and a clinical biomanufacturing facility for the production of pharmaceuticals for early stage human clinical trials. In addition to its research efforts, the Center provides an array of services to people with developmental disabilities, offers numerous educational and outreach programs to young children and their families, and trains scientists and clinicians who will serve our nation in the future.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 AM and 4:30 PM. In-person at the Waisman Center.

Qualifications:

computer and office skills

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Good Interpersonal communication skills. Accurate when working with documents/database. The ability to support technology (Zoom/Teams) during distance learning and meetings a plus.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

• Greet visitors and respond to assistance request at the Waisman Center lobby reception area. This includes but is not limited to: providing parking passes; directing people to meeting locations, clinical appointments and labs for participation in research; and assisting with the organization and maintenance of information flies and materials used to respond to requests for information

• Assist the UCEDD staff with database entry, copying and various offices duties. Ability to use Excel to create reports and ability to modify databased required. Accuracy is an essential part of this position.

• Using good interposal communication skills and an openness to learning about the Waisman Center resources to assist a diverse population of visitors.

• The ability to focus on computer work with periodic breaks to respond to the public
