Schedule:

10-15 hours per week, with additional hours during the summer based on need and student availability. The schedule will be a mix of regular scheduled hours and optional hours for event support.

Qualifications:

Employment will require a criminal background check.

Student must be enrolled for credit at an educational institution. Student will need to show proof of enrollment before starting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Familiarity with Audio/Visual equipment and the ability to independently problem solve after equipment training
• Excellent communication skills, especially writing and proofreading.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently within deadlines.
• Hands-on experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Comfortable learning new office tools and software
• Familiarity with event planning
• Optional: Comfortable with basic graphic design projects
• Optional: Experience using a modern web authoring tool (e.g. WordPress) to create web pages
• Optional: Comfortable doing basic data analysis and evaluation
• Optional: Ability to become a UW-Madison authorized driver for fleet vehicles.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

This position will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and will include tasks such as:
• Planning and staffing events and meetings, including responsibilities such as event registration, space set up, and other logistical components
• Serve as the primary point of contact for audiovisual and event technology, including initial setup and troubleshooting of equipment
• Providing general administrative support to the National Tribal Trial College, including formatting and uploading content to Canvas
• Monitoring and responding to email inquiries related to various projects
• Maintaining content on WordPress websites, including migrating content from old sites to new sites, removing outdated content, and reformatting content using the block editor and defined patterns.
• Assisting with travel, lodging, food arrangements, and other event logistics.
• Assisting in staffing the front desk
• Attending and participating in relevant meetings to track progress, take notes, or contribute to outcomes.
• Scheduling meetings and events using Outlook and other scheduling tools.

Physical Demands:

Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
