Anticipated Hours Per Week:
Minimum: 3 hours post Spring Break- end of semester & 22 hours in the Summer Maximum: 5 hours post Spring Break- end of semester & 40 hours in the Summer
Schedule:
Spring Office shifts will start the week after Spring Break. Supervisors will be expected to work 3-5 hours/week through the Spring semester to help prep for Summer Camp Summer shifts will occur Monday-Friday between 7:15am to 5:30pm. Each Wednesday, there will be a mandatory staff meeting from 5-5:45pm. Vacation time must be requested upon hire. Availability and vacation requests are conditions of employment. Minimum average of 4 shifts per week (each shift is 5.5 hours)

Qualifications:
- A desire to work with young children. - Communicate effectively with people of all ages. - Valid Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED/FA Certification or ability to obtain prior to first day of camp. - Successful completion and passing of a certified background and National Sex Offender Registry check. - Must be able to attend all training/orientation dates and Wednesday staff meetings throughout the summer. - Mandatory Staff Orientation will occur Monday-Friday between June 8 - June 12. - Preferred applicants will have experience in youth activities and summer camps AND/OR completed coursework in Teaching, Physical Education, Human Development and Family Studies, or related fields.

- Excellent communication (Participants, Grown-ups, Co-workers, Supervisors). - Organizational skills (Attendance keeping, Lesson timing). - This position may count as an internship if needed.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Safety & Wellbeing - Builds and creates an environment that supports and encourages camper and staff wellbeing - Uses behavioral management methods effectively and guides counselors in behavior management use as needed - Provides and clearly communicates camp rules and expectations to campers and staff - Follows and enforces all camp rules and expectations - Consistent with rules and follows through with consequences and rewards - Assists in maintaining ratios - Ensures Two-Deep Policy is followed - Ensures safety procedures such as head counts and safe travel actions are being followed Engagement - Takes initiative to develop and execute plans for implementing new ideas and/or activities - Shares knowledge and experience with others - Builds relationships and successfully collaborates with all campers and coworkers - Avoids using personal devices throughout the day - Creates and encourages a welcoming work environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing their opinions and beliefs - Shares responsibility and leadership with co-supervisor - Completes admin work away from camp/campers - Assists in facilitating trainings and in-services Communication - Uses age appropriate language with campers - Communicates early, often, and thoroughly with campers, co-counselors, supervisors and professional staff - Supervisor transitions - Grown-Up conversations - Uses professional and appropriate communication with grown-ups - Knows how to access and complete Connect2Concepts forms and includes all pertinent information or ideas - Communicates clearly using the radio - Facilitates challenging conversations as necessary - Actively listens and considers counselor ideas and opinions - Clearly communicates goals and expectations of counselors and co-supervisors Professionalism and Growth - Confidence in independent decision making - Uses resources to solve problems and answer questions - Asks questions as needed - Identifies transferable skills in current role for future career plan - Receives feedback and suggestions as opportunities to learn and improve - Is upfront, honest, and genuine when interacting with others - Demonstrates professional, respectful, and positive actions and attitudes - Acts as a role model for all campers - Supports, encourages, and adapts to changing environments Supervision - Motivates others to meet goals through appropriate actions, including reward and recognition - Collaborates and delegates responsibilities to others appropriately - Recognizes and effectively leverages employees’ skills and abilities - Addresses questions and concerns regarding employee performance in an appropriate, timely fashion - Effectively shares feedback in and outside of growth conversations - Observes staff in order to provide specific and effective feedback.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to project voice when giving instructions to the group in large, busy spaces with or without accommodations. Ability to navigate campus and public transportation with or without accommodations.
