Department Overview:
UW Organic Collaborative is a group of faculty, staff, students, and partners committed to growing the reach and impact of organic agriculture through world-class research, skillful instruction, and effective outreach at CALS UW–Madison. CIAS (Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems) is a sustainable agriculture and food systems research center in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at CALS UW–Madison.

Current student at UW-Madison Able to work in-person
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Social Media & Communication • Strong written and verbal communication skills with high-level copywriting experience and attention to detail • Strong familiarity with business applications of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.) • Proficiency with Meta Business Suite, including understanding of platform-specific features, mobile vs. desktop posting environments, and content optimization based on platform constraints (link placement, stories, reels, etc.) • Ability to interpret social media metrics and take action to improve campaign effectiveness Design & Technical • Light graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite) and web design experience (WordPress preferred) • Photo editing skills: optimizing and resizing images for web, video, and email marketing across formats (PNG, JPEG, SVG)
Position Summary/Job Duties:
• Support and create marketing and social media campaigns; implement strategies and content ideation • Grow and expand social media presence on existing platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) and into new platforms • Ensure brand consistency across all marketing and social media messages • Create and distribute engaging content including e-newsletters, web/blog content, and social media posts • Collect customer data; analyze interactions and visits; create reports to improve future strategies
Physical Demands:
May need to lift or move supplies weighing 30 lbs or less.
