Department Overview:
The Multicultural Student Center (MSC), located in the Red Gym, provides support, advocacy, and co-curricular experiences that center, affirm, and celebrate the varied and intersectional experiences of all UW students. Our spaces, programs and services are designed to cultivate a sense of belonging and community while strengthening all students’ capacity to learn, lead and thrive.

Schedule:
Weekly 1:1 w/ supervisor (1 hour) Bi-weekly All Intern meeting (1.5 hour) Multicultural Programming events (2 hours/week) Administrative tasks (Ex. event planning, logistics, responding to emails, social media management) (4-6 hours)

Qualifications:
2.0 cumulative G.P.A. required for hire Undergraduate Excellent written/verbal/electronic communications skills Knowledge of event planning and implementation Excellent customer service skills Involved in a student organization or other leadership experience Highly organized and creative Familiarity with social media and graphic design Able to work independently with strict deadlines for programs/events

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Take lead in planning MSC involvement events Work with the communications team to update social media with MSC programming Engage in collaboration with other campus partners with similar programming and goals Assess programs and collect feedback from campus and student attendees Assist MSC staff with special projects
Physical Demands:
Sit for long periods at computer/desk Use digital screens Set up for events - move tables and chairs
