Department Overview:
The Center for Educational Opportunity (CeO) provides services for students that are first generation, meet certain federal family income guidelines, and students with documented disabilities. CeO advisors and staff embrace a personal approach and provide support in every aspect of the student’s path to achievement and success. OEL Interns accepted into the program also have access to individualized mentorship, structured professional development workshops, and 1-on-1 career advising that will support their growth professionally and personally as they work in environments dedicated to supporting student success at UW-Madison.

Minimum: 8 hrs/week Maximum: 10 hrs/week
Schedule:
8-10 hours a week between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm (when the CeO office is open). Your detailed schedule is to be agreed upon with your supervisor depending on you academic schedule.

Qualifications:
Preferred major: Communication Arts, Marketing, Graphic Design, Consumer Behavior and Marketplace Studies
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Attention to detail, Creativity, Organization, Collaboration, Strong written and Verbal communication, Professionalism and accountability, Basic design skills, Minimal experience in marketing tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, and Box, and Social media literacy. Employment will require UW-Madison to verify your identity and employment eligibility. The employee must physically present original, unexpired documents (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/form-i-9-acceptable-documents) as evidence of identity and employment authorization.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
• Creating content (flyers, presentations, story posts, etc.) • Posting on social media (including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and LinkTree) • Create weekly email to be sent to all CeO scholars • Create advertising and supplemental materials for CeO and campus events as requested • Work alongside the CeO Team to promote the mission of the office • Front Desk tasks (general office and event support) • Update and design monthly bulletin boards that highlight resources and themed content • Monitor engagement and social media trends relevant to CeO’s mission and success
